Baltimore community – March 10th’s green streets

Published by cjp18 on

This past Saturday, Persson Law participated in the 2019 Under Armour Kelly St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock 5K, a running event that filled a few of the downtown streets of Baltimore, Maryland, starting in Mount Vernon, skirting Federal Hill, and ending just a block off the Inner Harbor. Despite the chilly temperatures, the 5K run provided warm and color-filled moments of community and charity in a city that oftentimes seems mired in violence.

According to event sponsors, this year’s donations will benefit St. Vincent de Paul Baltimore. This 501(c)(3) provides a wide range of services to Baltimore’s poor, including supportive housing for the homeless, child and family services including summer camp for homeless children age 5-14, workforce development, access to healthy food, and emergency assistance.

Fundamental to St. Vincent de Paul Baltimore’s annual fundraising campaigns is its Empty Bowl event, this year to be held at the Timonium Fairgrounds.
